Hey all. The plan coming up for Friday November 1st is to run Throne again and go for a full clear. The first 3 bosses should go much more quickly so hopefully everyone has a little bit more left by the time we get to where we stopped last weekend. I'll post a calendar event.
Also, I wanted to readdress the rank structure of the kin so nobody is left wondering why they're not promoted or what what the expectations are.
Unfortunately I can't modify the rank structure. It is what it is and the default naming doesn't necessarily reflect how we're utilizing the rank. This is especially true for the "kinsman/woman" rank. I'll try to briefly lay out how the ranking works for our kin. Please keep in mind that everything is up for discussion if it doesn't seem fair or right. We did it this way primarily to help with organization.
Recruit- The requirement is simply to have a lvl 120 main, and then you can bring in any alts you have. We want everyone to have the drive to improve to get to the point of being raid ready at some point, but we know some people will be more ready for that than others. Recruits are full-fledged members (wish I could change the name of this rank to kinsman/woman). The only restriction is that you may not be asked along into content you aren't ready for yet.
Kinsman/woman- I wish I could change this title to "Raider". We're using this rank to indicate what toons are ready for higher level raiding. Right now that means Anvil T2/KK T2 Full Clear/KK T3 Boss 1. The criteria is:
- Fully upgraded LI's.
- Meet the minimum stat requirements for your armor type and class based on Rhavek's guide in the forums.
- Functional test demonstrating capability. For DPS, please go to the Ettenmoors or Galtrev and report your 15s and 30s DPS using Combat Analysis based on Talowen's guide in the forums. For other combat roles we'll have to be a little more subjective. Just let one of the officers know when you're ready for that.
Officer- Be raid-ready and capable of leading raids. Be capable of instructing others in your primary class(es). Embody the ideals of the kin and help create an atmosphere of respect, teamwork, and competence in raiding. Actively take time to help kinmates get where they need to be.
Please understand we are not trying to be overly restrictive or elitist. I certainly have not "arrived" by any means and am still figuring some things out myself. We've just suffered through tough times in kinships with no set standards, and after discussing it, we feel like what I just laid out is a reasonable expectation. I think the thing that demonstrates that we are not restrictive or elitist is that it's extremely important to us that you have the help you need to get there. For the people at the recruit rank, we will go out of our way to help you get to know your class and gear up. You just need to ask.
If you're ready to be promoted or have any other questions at all, please let me know.
